“Growing up, I found a link to my ancestors through Asian films and animation. To prevent that line from breaking ever again, I have reinvented an imaginary version of myself.
As a consequence of that dream, Riuchi was born.”
あるとき、私は アジアのフィルムやアニメーションの中に 私の祖先とリンクするものを みつけた。
また ふたたび そのつながりを 見失わないように、自分の中の その架空のイメージを 再構築した。
そして RIUCHI が 生まれた。
戦士と錬金術師の両面を合わせ持つRIUCHIの特性は、パフォーマーのアジアのアイデンティティから生まれるイマジネーションに起因している。
彼は、主人公が高くジャンプしながら火の玉を発射して攻撃することを夢見るような日本のアニメーションに育まれて成長した。
困難と勝利を繰り返す未知なる冒険から物語が生まれ、RIUCHIは神秘的な東方の国より現れ出た。
独学のトレーニングで身につけたテクニックは、
武道の理論に基づき、RIUCHIはその動きを通して私たちと
会話する。彼の表現に、自然ににじみ出てくる優美さ、純粋さ、
そしてその集中力は、そのような背景によって高められている。
The character RIUCHI – warrior and alchemist at once – comes from the imagination of the performer’s Asian identity. The artist grew up nourished by Japanese animation, dreaming of jumping
high while launching fireballs at imaginary assailants.
From those fictional adventures of struggle and
triumph a tale was born and Riuchi emerged from a
mystical Eastern land. Riuchi communicates through
movements that are based on the theories of martial
arts through self-taught techniques and training.
Within this context, he creates movements enriched
with grace, purity and focus that seem effortless.
