Odissi originates from the ancient temples of Orissa, East India. It is characterized by the fluidity of the upper torso, executed with graceful hand gestures and firm footwork, .The talented dancers of the Temple of Fine Arts Adelaide bring you some of their finest work. This form of Indian classical dance has gained much popularity in the world and is renowned for its sculpturesque poses, graceful dancing and elegant costumes. Our odissi dance style is under the lineage of the stalwart of Odissi dance, the late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra from Orissa. Promising you 50 minutes of divine dancing and mesmerizing music.
The shows are just one after the other so it is an excellent opportunity to enjoy both styles in one evening.
